How to Delete Your Vamos Account
You can delete your account directly from the Vamos app. Follow these steps:
- Open the Vamos app on your device
- Tap your profile avatar in the top-left corner to open the menu
- Tap Settings
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account
- Confirm your decision when prompted
7-Day Grace Period
After you request deletion, your account enters a 7-day grace period. During this time, your account is deactivated and not visible to other users. If you change your mind, simply log back in to Vamos and your account will be restored. After the 7-day grace period, your account and data are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.
Data That Is Deleted
When your account is permanently deleted, the following data is removed from our systems:
- Your profile information (name, photo, bio, interests)
- Your phone number and email address
- Your group memberships and roles
- Your direct messages and conversations
- Your polls, event RSVPs, and reactions
- Your friend connections and friend requests
- Your notification history and settings
- Your location data (zip code and device location)
Data That May Be Retained
Certain data may be retained after account deletion in limited circumstances:
- Group messages you sent may remain visible in group channels, but your name will be shown as a deleted user
- Spam reports and moderation records may be kept to protect the safety of the Vamos community
- Anonymized usage data (crash reports, performance metrics) that cannot be linked back to your account
